Volunteers needed to organize END-of-SEASON Celebration

Although we still have two MAJOR meets remaining in the season, it's not too early to start thinking about an end-of-summer season celebration. If there are parents

who can help organize this, please let Coach Doc know. We will begin to identify a location for the celebration. In the past we have tried to have a cookout with activities

for the kids and the families at one of our local parks. But organizing food, drinks, etc and other activities will require some help from our parents and supporters...

Cross Country Season is on us!

Many of you have asked about cross country season. As many of you know, our cross country program has grown significantly over the past 4 years. Last year, more than

50 kids joined us for a very successful cross country program. Seven of our kids qualified to the National Championships and we were able to fund-raise to send them t

o Albuqueque, New Mexico to compete.

We will begin Cross Country Practice on SATURDAY, August 24th at 9AM at the Buehler Trail. We will practice on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays on the following schedule:

Mondays: East Campus Wall, 5:30-6:30PM
Wednesdays: Duke Gardens, 5:30-6:30PM
Saturdays: Buehler Trail alternating with the Whitefield Hills, 9-10AM

For those already registered with the Durham Striders, there is no further registration fee due. New athletes for Cross Country will be required to join USATF, obtain a USATF

number and have it verified in order to participate in USATF-sanctioned meets.

More information as we get closer to the beginning of the season.
