Cha’Mia Rothwell BRICK & BREW ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

For the first time this year but for the fifth time in her short career, sophomore Cha’Mia Rothwell is the female winner, claiming first-place in two events over the weekend as the Big Green women’s track team downed Yale and Columbia at home.

Their efforts are rewarded by being named the Hanover Brick and Brew Athletes of the Week.

Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes – one male, one female – as the Hanover Brick and Brew Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.

Cha’Mia Rothwell, So., Durham, N.C., Sprints, Women’s Track & Field

Rothwell was once again a double winner as she claimed the top spot in both the 60m hurdles and the 200 Saturday in Dartmouth’s home tri-meet with Yale and Columbia at Leverone Field House. Rothwell just missed her own school record in winning the hurdles, crossing the line in 8.39, beating her competition by an astounding 36-hundredths of a second to pick up five team points in the final. Rothwell wasn’t done winning just one event either, as she would later go on to take the top spot in the 200m. The second-year standout ran a 24.38 to win by half a second.
